S.F. Class A. Computer-oriented
Fast track - design
process 11/98. Client moved 9/99.
Design: Client defined
parameters of "modern, hi tech," we did the rest (CD's, FF&E
and still facilities programming. There were 3 separate buildings in
this early 1960's manufacturing building retrofit. We removed the skin
and unified the 3 buildings. Gym and locker room space was converted
into offices.
Pre-manufactuered
metal panels were retrofit into a 1962 building; little margin for error.
We designed 3 different
office layouts. They're using all 3.
Conference room
cores were vertical spaces with surrounding cubicles and seats; nodes.
These became meeting place and activity areas. Everyone can see in.
Corridor is the connector to the parts.
We did not use
typical colors. Gray-pattern carpet was free flowing. Tones of green
were on the wall.
Incorporated aspects
of feng sui: entrance was a curved red wall. Lots of glass for chi
flow; it goes around. Blue/water tiles at the entrance.
FF&E: Furniture
distributors and suppliers brought samples/books to us. We selected.
Still facilities
programming.
We've gotten more
work from them, tenant fit-outs for unused space at their headquarters.
